Commercial and Contracts management - Post Signature

 

Commercial and Contracts Management services in a post signature environment can be summarised in example form by the following:

 

1. The management of the internal order processing systems such that they help all internal clients understand the requirements of a contract, the risks involved and how they can be best mitigated so that the challenges faced in delivering a successful project are clearly identified;

 

2. Attending regular internal and external meetings concerned with the progress of various projects both from a commercial and well as technical standpoint;

 

3. Monitoring the progress of projects, including establishing whether schedules are being met, quality standards are being maintained, service levels are being achieved, invoices are being raised and payments are being received, etc.

 

4. Advising the project/business management teams about the terms of a contract;

 

5. Input to and subsequent management of the change request process including the negotiating of contract changes with the customer;

 

6. Establishment and monitoring of record retention and data management processes and procedures, including the filing systems used for hard copies of the contracts and other important project related paperwork;

 

7. Either leading or actively assisting in the management of third parties involved in projects, including the establishment of subcontracts, monitoring of progress, invoicing and payments, change management processes and procures, relationship building, etc.

 

8. Management and monitoring of the approvals processes and procedures;

 

9. Contribute to the management reporting systems on the progress or otherwise of projects, identifying “at risk” projects and/or project issues as appropriate;

 

10. Advise on and help resolve problems on projects including formal and informal dispute resolution relevant to customer and subcontractor agreements, actively managing the processes involved as appropriate;

 

11. Undertake periodic reviews of projects and ad-hoc reviews of issues and problems associated with projects to help establish best practices for future business management and problem solving; and

 

12. Implementation and management of proper project closure processes and procedures necessary to ensure successful disengagement at the end of a projects lifecycle.
